Ark/Kumbh Vivah

Ark/Kumbh Vivah

When a man faces delays or obstacles in marriage due to certain doshas or other issues, his marriage is first performed with the Ark tree, considered the daughter of the Sun, to remove all obstacles and doshas affecting his marriage. This ritual is known as Ark Vivah Puja. In this ritual, a bride’s marriage is first conducted with an idol of Lord Vishnu placed in a clay pot. The marriage is performed in a traditional manner. After the ceremony, the idol of Vishnu is immersed in a water body. This completes the Kumbh Vivah ceremony, after which the bride can marry the intended groom. This pre-marriage ritual for the bride is known as Ghat Vivah or Kumbh Vivah Puja.
